I’m Captain Charles Moore, coming to you from the North Pacific Ocean on the first plastic island ever discovered floating in the Pacific. Below me right now is a fish mausoleum with dead fish that have been caught by the
nets that have been trapped here. Survey, less then one hour. Sure enough, you got a toothbrush. This could have been a toothbrush that I used,
ten years ago and has been floating around in a circle
in the Gyre for that amount of time. So, the point is that this is a world wide
phenomenon. The oceans are all connected. There is truly only one world ocean. Everywhere in it, we are seeing the same phenomenon. An accumulation of our plastic trash.
